The Essence of the Chakras
The chakra system allows us to discover where we are holding on to false beliefs, and explore our fullest potential as spiritual beings. By working through corresponding asanas and mantras, you will tap into your energy centers and uncover the spirit that lies within.
Saturday, Sept. 25: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Devotion in Motion
Those who love music and yoga know how well the two fit together. This workshop will illustrate why music and chanting can be an integral part of a yoga practice, and why the art of devotion is so cool. The Beatles did it, why can't we? In this class, we'll be exploring some Bhakti yoga through chanting as well as the art of devotion through a fun and uplifting Jivamukti Yoga practice. Come ready to sweat your prayers.
Saturday, Sept. 25: 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Bending Backward, Moving Forward
Backbends seem to get all the glory in yoga practice. And for good reason! These are challenging asanas that go right to the heart of the yogi's intentions - to live a life filled with love. Backbends create room for fearlessness, and that is a challenging quality to practice and embody. But, through backbending, we become much more comfortable with moving fearlessly in our lives. This exciting Jivamukti vinyasa class will allow us to open our hearts and break free of what keeps us from joy. Please come ready for an intense asana practice. A strap and block are required.
Sunday, Sept. 26: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Wisdom of the Sages
Postures like Matsyendrasana, Vasisthasana and Koundinyasana are all named for great sages in the yogic tradition. Who were these guys? What did they have to offer us, and why were they so cool that they got their own poses? Because the yoga tradition is based on the relationship between teachers and students, by looking at some of the greatest teachers in yoga history, we can learn some of the most important lessons. This class will explore the myths and the postures of these sages. Come ready for an invigorating asana practice. Some lecture, mostly asana. Appropriate for intermediate/advanced students.
